Truck fire closes portion of I-85 near Thomasville

DAVIDSON COUNTY — All lanes of Interstate 85 north in Davidson County were temporarily closed Wednesday because of a vehicle fire.
The fire happened about 9 a.m. near Exit 102 for Lake Road, the N.C. Department of Transportation said. The lanes remained closed into the afternoon.
A social media post from Thomasville Fire and Rescue said a commercial truck caught fire on the shoulder of the highway.
Drivers were rerouted to Exit 96 to U.S 64 east and to N.C. 109 to reach I-85 at Exit 103.
There was no information available about the cause of the vehicle fire or whether there were any injuries.
