Trump stayed at Marriott in downtown Lancaster before airport rally

Former President Donald Trump spent Saturday night at the Marriott hotel in downtown Lancaster before his rally the next day at Lancaster Airport , according to Mayor Danene Sorace and Chief of Police Richard Mendez.

Sorace said she did not know more details about his stay.

Two Marriott employees, who declined to be quoted by name because they did not have permission to speak to the media, said Trump arrived Saturday night, was served dinner and departed the hotel after eating breakfast in the morning.

The employees said they did not know who Trump might have dined or met with during his stay. A manager declined to speak about Trump's stay.

As thousands of supporters gathered at the airport for Trump's rally, traffic in downtown Lancaster was congested in the late morning. Trump took the stage around 11:30 Sunday, suggesting his motorcade was the cause of the traffic tie-ups as police and Secret Service blocked roads temporarily.
