Tua Tagovailoa Replacement Linked to Dolphins Following Trade Rumors
The Miami Dolphins are rumored to be considering a move that could shake up their quarterback room. Tua Tagovailoa, after suffering another concussion in the 2024 season, has raised concerns within the organization about his long-term health and durability.
While Tagovailoa has shown flashes of brilliance when healthy, his repeated head injuries have cast doubt over his ability to consistently lead the team.

"The Dolphins feel like the best fit here," Barnwell stated . "On the field, Young is best in an offense that's built around RPOs and designed to get the ball out quickly. The ability to create out of structure we saw from him at Alabama might still be there, but it has been eroded by what happened to him in Carolina."
For Miami, this deal would make sense from a financial standpoint as well. Young is owed $10.7 million through the end of the 2026 season, a relatively modest amount for a backup quarterback with his potential. Tagovailoa has proven to be a valuable asset when healthy, but the Dolphins may want insurance given his injury history.
From Carolina's perspective, this move could be seen as an acknowledgment that the franchise might be ready to move on from Young.
After benching him early in his sophomore season, it's clear the Panthers might no longer view him as their quarterback of the future. By trading Young, Carolina could accumulate draft capital while shifting focus to finding their next franchise quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft.
While the Panthers have downplayed rumors of moving on from Young, actions speak louder than words. The trade would offer both teams a chance to move forward, with Miami gaining a high-upside backup and Carolina securing valuable draft assets.
