Tuesday Morning Northland Forecast: 11/5/2024 Election Day Forecast

The weather will not be a negative factor for Election Day today. At least, not in the Northland. There are numerous showers and thunderstorms rumbling from east Texas to St. Louis to Chicago. But here in the Northland, we will be just fine, except for the chance of a little rain this afternoon. We had .20′′ of rain in Duluth yesterday, mainly from late morning into early afternoon. If we get rain today, it will be in a similar window of time, from late morning to late afternoon. It also looks to be about the same amount, maybe up to .25′′ inches. The average high temp for today is 42 degrees. We may be a touch above that, at about 45, with NE winds off the lake, 10-15mph. A pretty average day for November 5th.

After today, high pressure moves in from the northwest to stay for several days. Starting tomorrow, the rest of the workweek will be mostly sunny and dry, with highs in the upper 40s to around 50. Our next decent chance for rain will arrive Saturday evening into Sunday. With highs this weekend near 50, it will still be rain, not snow. However, next Wednesday into Saturday is looking interesting. What appears to be a rain event on Wednesday and Thursday could turn into a fairly significant snow event on Friday and Saturday. It's too soon to guess on amounts, but it's sure something I'll keep my eyes on. We are definitely far enough into fall to get a good snowfall. I'll let you know!

So, go vote today! It's your civic duty, and you can't blame the weather for not getting there!
