Twinsburg mayor to residents in tense meeting: ‘If you’re in a glass house, don’t throw stones’
TWINSBURG, Ohio (WJW) – The Twinsburg city council meeting on Sept. 10 quickly turned into a fireworks show of confrontation.
With a stack of public records in hand, Twinsburg Mayor Sam Scaffide packed a punch with his response to the latest round of criticism from residents regarding an ongoing legal battle, aimed at several city officials.
"We've done our homework and some of the people in this room, again... be careful. If you are in a glass house, don't throw stones because they will come out as well," he said.
In April, three former Twinsburg police officers filed a lawsuit against the city. That included allegations of corruption.
Since then, a group of residents has been pushing their city for more transparency. However, that pushback reached a fever pitch last week.

The lawsuit itself remains ongoing.
Only time and the legal process can tell us where this story goes next. So for now, the tension continues.
The mayor's office released the following statement to FOX 8:
"Transparency is key to my administration. Indeed, in an effort to correct the false narrative that the City is not releasing records, Council requested last week that a web page be created where all of the records that have been released to Attorney Bardwell and others over the past few months be posted online. As of yesterday, that web page is live and can be found at . This web page will be periodically updated. In this way, the public can see for themselves the voluminous amount of documents, videos, and audio recordings that have been released to date.
"Second, after months of sitting silently while the Police Department and this Administration has been attacked with lies and misinformation, I felt I needed to speak to defend the Police Department and staff at last week's council meeting. My comments were not and should not be taken as a threat to the residents – records are only released in response to public records requests."
