COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL )— Two brothers have been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting of a teenager at Springhill Suites in March.

The Columbus Police Department says brothers Dereon Montgomery, 16, and Patrick Jerome Montgomery, 17, were arrested in Lee County, Alabama on Sept. 17 and were extradited to Columbus, Georgia on Sept. 18.

Columbus Police confirmed the brothers are being charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of Dennie Henderson. In March, Henderson was found dead in the 5400 block of Whittlesey Road (Springhill Suites) after he succumbed to injuries from multiple gunshot wounds.

Columbus Police also arrested Ty'Quavious Richmond on May 16 in connection with Henderson's death. Richmond pleaded not guilty when he made an appearance in Recorder's Court in May. Recorder's Court Chief Judge David Renieri bound the case over to Superior Court with no bond for Richmond.

The Montgomery brothers are both scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court on Sept. 20.

Police say the investigation into Henderson's death is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Demetrius Battle at 706-225-4340.
