Two Central High School students make perfect ACT score

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two Central High School students have a reason to feel relieved.

Senior John Roberson and junior Eric Tang earned a perfect 36 on the ACT.

After months of studying, Roberson said receiving the test results was a weight lifted off his shoulders.

"Math and English were the sections that I needed to get it to a 36, so it's just after I had taken it once or twice, I was just working specifically on those," Roberson said.

Tang credits his teachers for his success.

"I just had some pretty good teachers, and I listen to them in class and everything I did in class really helped towards it," Tang said.

Once getting the results, Tang said he celebrated with his family.

"When I got the ACT score, I was really excited," Tang said. "I immediately told my parents, and we celebrated. It was really fun."

Because of their weekend studying and practice tests, these two have accomplished something less than 1% of ACT test-takers accomplish.

"I feel like I have friends that are worrying about it," Roberson said. "So it's nice to just have it done."

While Roberson said he's finished, Tang still has more to do, so he is now focusing on the SAT.
