Two injured after vehicle hits Haas Hall Academy in Bentonville

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Two people were injured on Thursday afternoon after a vehicle struck the Haas Hall Academy building in Bentonville, according to a social media post .

Dr. Martin W. Schoppmeyer Jr., the superintendent and founder of Haas Hall Academy said around 3:30 p.m. a vehicle hit the southwest corner of the building.

"The scene is being cleaned up," Schoppmeyer said. "We have requested an inspection of the building and utilities this evening."

Cpl. Melissa Fox, a spokesperson for the Bentonville Police Department said the driver of the vehicle was having a medical emergency leading up to the crash.

"Our thoughts are with the passenger and driver as they are being treated for their injuries," Schoppmeyer said in the post.

The Bentonville Fire Department also responded to the incident.

No other injuries were reported.
