According to the release from Shapiro's office, the reimbursement grant program "supports essential design, acquisition, and construction projects across the Commonwealth. The program funds projects with regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, promoting economic growth, creating jobs, increasing tax revenue, and contributing to vibrant, resilient communities."
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program began in 1986 and is administered by the Office of the Budget to provide funds for regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. Statewide, more than $590 million in grants were awarded through the program last week.
