WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Texas Department of Transportation will close a portion of US 287 next week to repair the bridge.

The repairs will take place from Sept. 17 to Sept. 19 at the interchange ramp from I-44 Northbound to US 287 between Maurine Street and Loop 11 and Beverly Drive.

TxDot said the left interchange lane and the bridge will close during repairs, and the speed limit will be reduced to 45 miles an hour.

Drivers should avoid the area if possible as backups are expected while the freeway allows limited traffic.
