'Uber Shower' prank not so squeaky clean for annoyed neighbors in Summerlin

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A bizarre prank caught on camera has homeowners in Summerlin scratching their heads and calling police.

That's after two men show up at the door ready to take a shower, claiming to have booked a 15-minute session with "Uber Shower."

It's a story that falls into the "Only in Vegas" category for sure.

It seems funny, but the homeowners FOX5 talked to said it's no laughing matter if they show up to the wrong house, and they worry the shower prank could land them in hot water.

There's Uber rideshare, and Uber Eats, but "Uber Shower" doesn't exist.

Homeowner, Debbie Schilder says she wants the shower dudes to clean up their act.

"I'm sure it was some kind of prank that's going to end up on the internet someplace," Schilder said.

We checked and couldn't find anything. But something Schilder found right away, the cameraman.

"The first thing I noticed was the guy across the street in the black Tesla filming it up driver's side window," Schilder said. But the driver, and the half-naked shower guys didn't stay long. They made a clean getaway.

"You guys know that you harass people, you make people uncomfortable. It's not funny," Schilder's son said in a video as he filmed them leaving the neighborhood.

The trio certainly made a splash and got on Metro's radar after the cops were called, and neighbors posted their photos on the Nextdoor app.

Schilder, who has lived in Vegas since the 60s, says a lot has changed since then, and practical jokes aren't as squeaky-clean these days.

"When I was growing up and kids might do some stupid pranks," Schilder said. "It's kind of different because there's too much crime going on and you just don't know what their intentions are."

Metro officials don't know that, either. The men were gone before police arrived. But an officer explains there could be charges filed against pranksters like this if they don't leave when asked.

That officer also says it doesn't rise to the level of indecent exposure. But Schilder pulls back the curtain with this bit of wisdom and worry for any would-be pranksters who go to the wrong house.

"That's the biggest problem is that they're putting their lives in danger by pulling some stupid prank or something. They walk into the wrong house and somebody happens to have a gun," Schilder said.

If this happens to you, Metro says if anyone comes to your door and you don't want contact with them and you ask them to leave, it's trespassing if they don't take off.

The officer adds the homeowners did the right thing calling and reporting it.

He adds it's even better if you get the license plates as well.
