UConn Police arrest two students

STORRS — UConn Police arrested two students on an active warrant for an incident that occurred on Nov. 7 at the CT Residence Dining Hall on the Storrs campus.

According to police, the students, identified as Thanh Bao, 18, of Vernon, and Nathanael Ghez, 18, of Penn Valley PA, through the investigation, were found to be in part of a disturbance that took place between the two.

UConn Police said Bao conspired and took part in reenacting a viral TikTok video. In this video, Bao yelled commands while holding a black cell phone with two hands and posturing forward like he was holding a firearm.

According to the Police, Ghez recorded the incident on his cell phone and yelled in collaboration with Bao.

"The incident caused fear and alarm to other individuals in the dining facility," UConn Police said.

Bao is being charged with conspiracy to commit threatening in the first degree, threatening in the first degree and breach of peace in the second degree. He was processed and released from custody. Bao is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 21.
