Today, Sept. 21
WILKES-BARRE: The Polish American Congress of Northeastern Pennsylvania will meet at 5 p.m. today at Patte’s Sports Bar, Hollenbach Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Plans for the Christmas Wigilia slated for 1 p.m. on Dec. 6 in King’s College will be on the agenda. Bernard Duymond will preside.
Wednesday, Sept. 23
WILKES-BARRE: The Christian Women of Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Ave., Wilkes Barre, will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the parish rectory. All women of the parish are invited to attend.
Plans will be finalized for the annual turkey bingo to be held at 1 p.m. in the Marymount Parish Center on Sunday, Oct. 18.
Admission is $3, and raffle tickets will be available for several great prizes, including a hand made quilt and 2 hand made Afghans.

Sunday, Sept. 27
FORTY FORT: The Forty Fort Cemetery Association, Forty Fort Meeting House, 20 River Street, Forty Fort, will host Sherry Emershaw of the Denison Advocates at 3:30 p.m. She will discuss the importance of herbs in the life of colonial times.
The Denison Advocates are responsible for the maintaining and interpretive history of the Denison Homestead, one of the oldest domestic structures in north east Pennsylvania.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
WILKES-BARRE: The Lithuanian Women’s Club of Wyoming Valley will meet at noon at Boscov’s for lunch. The meeting will follow at 1 p.m. New members are welcome.
Saturdays, Oct. 3/Oct. 10; Sunday, Oct. 11
FORTY FORT: The Forty Fort Cemetery Association will conduct cemetery promenades at 1 p.m. starting with a lecture at the Forty Fort Meeting House and then proceeding to various graves and sites throughout this historic cemetery.
Come learn about the history of Wyoming Valley and the families whose names are still present in many of our streets and institutions. Comfortable walking shoes a must.
The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per escorted child.
Sunday Oct. 4
The 2015 Forty Fort Meeting House season will end with the final meeting at 5 p.m. for our annual ecumenical vesper service.
This year the Rev. Charles Carrick, teacher and chaplain at Wyoming Seminary, will officiate. Wyoming Seminary’s Madrigal Singers will accompany this service.

WILKES-BARRE: The Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health & Developmental Services announce its advisory board meetings for the remainder of 2015.
Meetings will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the MH&DS offices, second floor, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The public is invited to attend.
