UPDATE: Heavy police presence in Woodyard Drive area, body found in Cane River
Update: Natchitoches Police locate first suspect for homicide on Lakeview Drive
The Natchitoches Police Department has located, Angle Lee Reed (B/M, 31 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), who was wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Natchitoches Police Department officers were contacted about a possible body in Cane River Lake on Nov. 13 around 2:11 pm. Upon officers arrival they located a body in the river and contacted the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office search and rescue boat for assistance.
Officers and deputies were able to recover the body of, Angle Lee Reed, who was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office.
The second suspect, Alvin James Holden (B/M, 26 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), is still wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Natchitoches Police investigate homicide on Lakeview Drive
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning on Lakeview Drive.
On November 10, 2024 around 3:10 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Lakeview Drive in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon officers arrival they located Marshall Claiborne (B/M, 55 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), the victim, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Marshall Claiborne was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.

An NPJ reader submitted a photo today, Nov. 13, around 3:30 pm of a heavy police presence in the Fish Hatchery Road/Woodyard Drive area. The reader said they were advised by law enforcement on the scene that it might involve a body in Cane River. No further information is available at this time. Motorists should avoid the area while police investigate. The NPJ will release more news as it becomes available.
