Update: Power Dam Road Fire mostly contained Friday afternoon

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Firefighters have contained a majority of the Power Dam Road Fire, according to a S.D. Department of Public Safety (DPS) Facebook post Thursday mid-afternoon.
The fire location is west of Hwy. 83. The winds, which have dropped considerably since Thursday, have shifted from the north to the east.

In addition to ground fire crews, Single Engine Air Tankers (SETs) are dropping fire retardant to slow the fire from spreading.
The SD DPS warns that conditions are still favorable for wildland fires in central and western South Dakota. DPS warns people not to burn outdoors or do anything that could cause a spark.
