Updated 2024 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 12 Results
C.Wright3 months ago
- Kathryn Riley/ Arizona and New England once again lost on Sunday. The Patriots' defeat to the New York Giants was more consequential to the 2024 NFL draft order because New York earned its fourth win and moved up to the No. 6 selection. Bill Belichick's team is expected to join the Cardinals in the double-digit loss club against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13. The Patriots could move level with the Cardinals on losses during Arizona's Week 14 bye. The Patriots have a weaker strength of schedule than the Cardinals after Week 12, so they would move up from No. 3 to No. 2 with a loss. New England does not have another win on its schedule, and it may not be competitive in the next few weeks versus the Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs. The losses should stack up and lead to a quarterback change through the draft. USC's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye are the top quarterback prospects in the 2024 draft class. Arizona may be more inclined to land Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to add more help around Kyler Murray. The Cardinals visit Pittsburgh in Week 13 and then face San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia and Seattle after their bye. The NFC West team could go in a different direction at quarterback, but if may be better off with its current franchise quarterback because he is a proven quantity in the NFL and adding a rookie would trigger a full-blown rebuild. At minimum, the Cardinals should add one of the top college prospects if they continue their losing ways.
