UPMC opens new lung and pulmonary clinic in central Pa.

A new clinic has opened in Perry County. UPMC Lung and Pulmonary Clinic opened at 300 Bretz Court in Howe Township, near Newport on Monday. The clinic treats people suffering from conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic cough, and other types of lung disease. "UPMC is committed to making specialty care accessible to our entire community," Erik Toth, vice president, thoracic and pulmonary services, UPMC in Central Pa., said in a news release. "By bringing expert lung care to Perry County and surrounding areas, we're fulfilling a promise to bring life-changing medicine to the most rural communities that we serve." Providers at the clinic are Drs. Santhosh John or Taj Rahman. The clinic is open twice a month on Mondays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Appointment: 717-988-5864.
