Williamsport, Pa. — UPMC Williamsport's Sleep Center has earned reaccreditation for the fourth time in a row.

The Sleep Center at UPMC Williamsport Divine Providence Campus has earned reaccreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) through January of 2030. The five-year accreditation indicates that the Sleep Center met AASM's quality standards including personnel qualifications; data acquisition; patient care; and quality assurance.

This is the fourth consecutive time that the Sleep Center has earned AASM's accreditation. The facility continues to demonstrate a positive impact on medical care within its service area.

"Sleep is fundamental to overall health, and effectively treating sleep disorders can be life changing. These conditions are more common than many realize and can lead to serious medical issues and a diminished quality of life," said Paula Holmes, director, UPMC Ambulatory Services in North Central Pa. "The reaccreditation from AASM reaffirms the excellent standard of care that UPMC provides to every patient at the Sleep Center."

AASM began accrediting sleep disorder centers in 1977. Today, there are more than 2,600 AASM-accredited sleep centers across the country, and UPMC Sleep Medicine in Williamsport is proud to be among them.

UPMC in North Central Pa. offers sleep medicine services in Williamsport and Wellsboro.
