U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick visits Altoona business; discusses inflation impacts

Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick, visited Blair County Thursday as part of his "Price of Poor Leadership Tour."

McCormick was joined by other state officials and Altoona area residents.

They talked about the impact of the high cost of living on families, small businesses and communities.

McCormick says he's going to do "everything he can" to unlock the energy industry because he thinks it's Pennsylvania's future.

He also talked about what he plans to do on his first day of office.

"On day one in the Senate, I'm going to be focused on policies to reduce this skyrocketing inflation that's killing working families. We have to get the spending under control. We have to get the regulations under control," McCormick said.

Earlier this week, McCormick and his opponent, Senator Bob Casey, participated in their second debate of the election season.

Sen. Casey is expected to visit Somerset County on Friday.

"Pennsylvanians deserve a leader that will put them ahead of Wall Street but David McCormick has a long record of prioritizing his bottom line. He supports a corporate tax giveaway that raised taxes on more than 375,000 Pennsylvanians and he's defending greedy corporations that are gouging prices on working families - it's disqualifying," a spokesperson with the Pennsylvania Democratic party said in a statement.
