U.S. Senate candidate Hovde has no right to pin loss to Baldwin on Milwaukee | Letters

Following Eric Hovde's loss in the Senate race against Sen. Tammy Baldwin, it is appalling that he would question the integrity of the City of Milwaukee on their vote counts (" Hovde calls Senate race loss 'painful,' won't concede ," Nov. 14).

Additionally, with no clear evidence showing Milwaukee tampering with the results of the election , Hovde has no right to pin the shortfalls of his campaign on Milwaukee alone.

Editorial: Hovde's election claims are false. He's blaming Milwaukee – without evidence.

In a senator we are looking for someone who we can trust to fight for every Wisconsinite, and in accusing Milwaukee of falsifying the election result, Hovde makes it clear that he holds disdain for the voices of Milwaukeeans. As a voter in Milwaukee, I trust that our officials counted each vote with honesty. And while Hovde has every right to abstain from conceding in this race until every vote is counted, I would encourage that once the results are final, he apologizes to the residents of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is a diverse community of hardworking people from all walks of life, and we, like our neighbors, care deeply about the future of all Wisconsinites. Therefore, to be a senator of Wisconsin, you must recognize, understand and respect everyone while working to unite us, not divide us.

Jeremy Waldoch, Milwaukee
