Back in 2014, Julia Louis-Dreyfus 's Veep character Selina Meyer became the first female U.S. president by way of the sitting president not seeking reelection. A decade later, we're living in a similar timeline in the real world as Vice President Kamala Harris continues her campaign for the presidency. Ahead of the 2024 election, Louis-Dreyfus and the cast of Veep are reuniting for a table read of "Crate," the pivotal episode in Season Three where Selina receives the news that the POTUS baton is being passed to her.

"We tried to find an old episode where President Meyer accused immigrants of eating dogs and cats . But back when we were making Veep, that seemed insane and over the top," Louis-Dreyfus told The Hollywood Reporter. Hosted by Stephen Colbert, the reunion will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. ET. Cast members Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, Timothy Simons, Sam Richardson, Matt Walsh, Gary Cole, Sarah Sutherland, Clea DuVall, and Sufe Bradshaw will participate.

Tickets for the reading are available to reserve through the official Democratic Party of Wisconsin website. Louis-Dreyfus announced news of the reunion alongside Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler, noting that it's being hosted "in support of helping Dems win up and down the ballot in Wisconsin." It doubles as a fundraising event, with viewers donating any amount to join the virtual event. Trending

"We're thrilled to team up with the incomparable Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the cast of Veep to deliver this year's unforgettable and hilarious live virtual WisDems event, this time hosted by the one and only Stephen Colbert," Wikler told the Hollywood Reporter. "Our grassroots supporters power our statewide organizing, and it's that organizing strength that helps us elect Democrats and chart a new way forward in Wisconsin. Events like this celebrate our long-time supporters and let us reach even further to the people who will fuel our work to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Tammy Baldwin and Democrats across Wisconsin this November."

The seventh and final season of Veep aired in 2019 but has recently experienced a resurgence in the face of the upcoming election.
