Veronica Zubris, 83, passed away Saturday at the General Hospital because
of a stroke.
Born in Luzerne, she was the daughter of late Peter and Victoria Augus
Masonis. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School. Vern and her late husband
John operated the Star Beverage and Supply Co. She was a member of Holy
Trinity Church.

She was predeceased by eight brothers, Joseph, Andrew, Walter, Anthony,
Charles, Daniel, William and John; and one sister, Mary.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, John and Karel, Plains; and her
daughter and son-in law, Donna and Mike Hodges, Virginia. She enjoyed her
three grandchildren.

The funeral is Wednesday 9 a.m. from the Robert Bednarski Funeral Home, 27
Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 9:30
a.m. at Holy Trinity Church.

Calling hours are Tuesday, 3:30 to 8 p.m.
