CHANNELVIEW, Texas — A teenage business owner who's working hard to make her dreams a reality said a masked thief smashed into her business, costing her thousands of dollars.

Now, she's turning to the community for help rebuilding and finding the thief.

Destiny Rodriguez is 18 and owns Glitz Glamourr , a one-stop beauty bar in Channelview. The teen entrepreneur said the thief smashed the glass and then ransacked her business about two weeks ago.

"He broke in the shop and took a lot of stuff. He did a lot of damage. It's just very devastating," she said.

The determined teen opened her store - a pink paradise - several months ago.

"Very girly. I wanted it to be very aesthetically beautiful," she said. "It just makes me feel kind of proud."

Her journey hasn't been easy, especially because of her age.

"It's very hard being very young to do everything because, you know, people don't take me as serious," she said.

Her hard work was paying off until the thief struck. Destiny said she has spent a few thousand dollars on repairs in the wake of the break-in. She said the thief also stole equipment from her two employees.

"It damages our business because now we have to see what we can do to, you know, get our supplies back and the client's, you know, pushing them back. It's just very devastating," she said.

Destiny is hoping the community can support her by making donations and helping police find the masked bandit and put him behind bars. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
