Vice President Kamala Harris rally in Wilkes-Barre Friday

Thousands of people were in attendance. Some were from nearby states, others were from nearby dorm rooms. "I wouldn't miss it for the world, the last time I was this fired up was Barack Obama," said Greg Kline from Harriman, New York. "We were actually supposed to have a dodgeball tournament here tonight, so when we found out she was here we were like 'well I guess we're not having that,' but it's okay because we would rather her than play dodgeball," said Nori Zaccheo, Wilkes University student. Before Harris took the podium, a few familiar Pennsylvania political faces gave their own endorsements of the candidate. But crowds really roared as Harris took the podium. Within minutes she addressed her debate against former President Donald Trump this past Tuesday.

"It was the same old show, the same tired playbook we've heard for years, with no plan, no plan with how he would address the needs of the American people," said Harris. Harris touched on her campaign themes like tax cuts for small businesses and tackling corporate price gouging. She also unveiled a new policy, getting rid of college degree requirements for federal jobs. "For far too long our nation has encouraged only one path to success, a four-year college degree," said Harris. Our nation needs to recognize the value of other paths." "[The rally] went wonderfully, it was full of a lot of energy, there's ton of people here going in the right direction, because we don't want to go back," said Kim Simon from Archbald.
