Imagine getting back from work only to find your home thrashed and your belongings missing! Bobby Portis recently took to X to inform us about exactly that – a shocking home invasion – at his residence. Although Portis was away at the time, he shared the details of it via a clip as well as video footage of the two burglars captured in his CCTV. There weren't any further updates on the matter until now.

Talking to reporters after the Bucks'Utah Jazz tonight, the 29-year-old explained what was going to happen moving forward. The reporter, for his part, was respectful when asking about the burglary, expressing his sympathy before querying how he was dealing with the situation "just mentally."

I think me and my team just decided to keep everything internally. And everything that comes out, we release per my own social. So, you know, obviously, it's cool, but you know sad it happened. But we'll just keep it at that and no further comments," Bobby answered.

It is no doubt the right way to go about things. Portis' choice to communicate directly through his own social media allows him to keep all information both authentic and controlled, avoiding the potential distortions that may come from involving third parties. This approach also lets Bobby Portis manage the narrative, ensuring that only the information he feels is appropriate will be shared.

And while he acknowledged the unfortunate nature of the incident, the 2021 champion was clear that no specific details would be shared. Smart man! But what about that $40,000 reward?

Bobby Portis had offered a handsome reward for information leading to burglary suspects The home invasion happened when the big man was busy trying to help his team fend off an aggressive Cavaliers team. However, the result was a tight 114-116 loss. The defeat came despite a spectacular performance by Portis – a 21 points, 18 rebounds double-double. Perhaps it was a sign.

In the video he shared on X, Bobby also included a message. "I consider Milwaukee my home. Last night, while I was at work, my home was burglarized, and many of my prized possessions were stolen. If you have any tips or info, please send them to Rewards for info leading to recovery or arrests!"

Following the initial post, he posted a follow-up video with more details on the reward. "I am offering $40,000 reward for any info that directly leads to the return of my items," Portis wrote. As mentioned above, he also included a 56-second CCTV footage of two suspects breaking in.

As of now, the investigation remains ongoing. Given we have yet to hear anything positive from Portis, it would be safe to assume that the reward is still unclaimed. The only thing we can do is wait. So, let's do that.
