VIDEO: Officer jumps into action to save man after car plunges into pool

An officer in Phoenix is being hailed as a hero after he didn't hesitate to jump into a pool to rescue a man from a submerged vehicle.
The said bystanders called for help after they saw someone drive into the pool.
Body camera video captured the officer immediately jumping into the water to save the man who told police he accidentally stepped on the gas too hard.
The officer is seen smashing the windshield of the vehicle and pulling the man to safety.
"Thanks to the swift and courageous response of the officer, the man's life was saved," the department wrote on social media.
Officers confirmed no one else was in the car at the time of the incident and the man was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
