Village View: The election is over!
We may not know the final tally as yet, and Trump has been laying the groundwork for challenges for weeks now.
But it is a great relief that all those awful negative ads are gone.
I think it is safe to say that Kamala Harris is now President-elect! The Madison Square Garden rally in New York should have clinched the deal for Harris and Walz.
Trump and his minions went to court 60 times in 2020, and they lost every single case.
Because the Republican candidate has insulted every single group known to mankind they have probably all voted against the MAGA men again this time.
And in January we will have a democratic and peaceful turning over of the power from Biden to Harris!!!

If any of my readers come from immigrant stock, as I do, they can be assured that the insults which Trump hurled at every group of immigrants took root.
The worst of them was the last one which was a lie about legal Haitian citizens eating citizen's cats and dogs.
The Republican governor of Ohio and the Republican mayor of the Ohio city which was named both went public on television and radio and newspapers to deny that crazy lie, I held on tight to my sweet and cuddly Cutiepie and promised not to let any insane MAGA person ever catch her!!
Trump never realized that by boycotting Biden's installation as president, Trump missed out on all publicity photos. And since publicity is all he ever thinks about, he must be aggravated every time he realizes what he did to himself.
I was in Washington for President Obama's Inauguration, and Senator Casey arranged good seats for my friend and me. The entire city was a giant lovefest that day and the police did not have any trouble controlling crowds. A Congressman invited us to a party in his suite after the swearing-in.
As much as I admire Kamala Harris and look forward to her presidency I do not plan to endure the bitter cold of a Washington Inauguration again.
I will watch from the warmth of my den and just sit in front of my TV. And enjoy seeing my prediction come true.
