Volunteers needed for Day of Caring

On May 9, the United Way of Wyoming Valley will hold its annual Day of Caring & Awards Event.

Last year, 622 volunteers joined hands to complete 41 community projects in just one day.

This year’s event will kick off with a continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Genetti Hotel & Conference Center in Wilkes-Barre.

During a short program, Day of Caring efforts will be highlighted and campaign achievements, volunteers and donors will be recognized with a number of awards for their support of the United Way and the 2013-2014 Community Campaign.

At the conclusion of the program, at approximately 9:15 a.m., interested volunteers will report to their pre-registered project.
