Vote ‘yes’ on Berea Issue 4 levy renewal for local health care

I am writing about the upcoming Berea Issue 4 tax levy renewal for hospitalization in and support of Southwest General Health Center. Voting for Issue 4 will help maintain important services without raising taxes. I am a Berea resident and business owner and am very active in my community by serving in the Berea chamber of commerce and with the local schools. As an optometrist, I am passionate about access to high-quality health care for my friends and neighbors. Living less than a mile away from the hospital, I see firsthand what a positive impact the hospital has on our community.

From maternal and newborn care, to free screenings, Southwest General has taken care of us for many years. Its award-winning services are second-to-none, and they are always available when emergencies arise.

Southwest General is also extremely engaged in the communities it serves, providing Stop the Bleeding training for administrators, teachers, coaches, and others in the Berea-Midpark school district. The hospital also offers safety fairs at the local library.

Election Day is just around the corner and the choice is clear: Vote for Issue 4 in support of local health care. It's a necessity.
