Voters approve referendum to allow brewery licenses in Dauphin County borough
PENBROOK, Pa. (WHTM) — A Dauphin County community will be dry no more, voters overwhelmingly decided Tuesday.
A referendum to allow brewery licenses to be issued in Penbrook passed 905-346.
Penbrook has been a dry borough since the prohibition era in 1934, according to the Liquor Control Board. Brewery licenses would allow alcohol made on the premises to be sold, along with spirits and wine made in the state.
There are no imminent plans for a brewery in town, but, if passed, the ballot measure would allow one.
