Walter Urban III, 84, remembered by family and outdoors
Walter J. "Wally" Urban III was born on June 7, 1940, in Racine to Walter J. and Lillian (Bronson) Urban II. He cherished his hometown roots and built a life of love and dedication.
A devoted husband and fatherWally married Marilyn A. Visek on May 4, 1963, and together they celebrated 61 years of marriage. The couple had six children, each contributing to a wealthy family life marked by love and support.
Career and passionsWally's career began in a machine shop and extended to owning an auto body shop. He later worked at Twin Disc and Wiscon Products before becoming an auto sales manager, a role he held until retirement. His passion for cars and boats was evident throughout his life, as was his love for the outdoors and hunting.
Survived by loved onesWally is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children Walter "Beau" (Margery) Urban IV, William Urban, Leeann Barnes, Robert "Bobby" (Kelly) Urban, Patricia "Patty" (David) Michielli, and Diane (Jeff Schmidt) Pinnow; and 12 grandchildren: Lorrena, Beau, William, Andrew, Amanda, BreAuna, Zachary, Blake, Austin, Lilly, Hanna, and Tyler.
Preceded by family In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by his sister, Leanne, who passed away in infancy .
Funeral service detailsA memorial service for Wally will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Purath-Strand Funeral Home, 3915 Douglas Ave., Racine. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Wally's legacy of love for his family and the great outdoors will be cherished by all who knew him.
