Walter D. Zbilut of Plains Township died Sunday at Wilkes-Barre General
Hospital. Born in Plains Township, he was a son of the late Martin and Mary
(Patyk) Zbilut. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Medical
Corp and receiving a bronze star. He was employed as a store room clerk in New
Jersey for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph’s
Church, Hudson, Plains Township. Surviving are his sister, Josephine Zbilut,
Plains Township; a brother, Joseph, Dover, N.J.; and a niece. Funeral services
will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St.,
Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s
Church, Hudson. Interment will be in St. John’s Polish Cemetery, Exeter.
