Warren police to release dashcam footage after department sued for chase, crash that severely hurt woman
The Warren Police Department plans to release dashcam footage of a crash that severely injured a woman after a $60 million lawsuit against the department .
Brittny Turner was driving through the intersection at Eight Mile and Mound when she was hit by police who were allegedly pursuing a suspect. Witnesses say officers were not using lights and sirens, but that's not been confirmed by Warren police.
"They took my life June 8," Turner said. "Even though I'm here talking to you, I'm just existing in this world right now. I'm not living."
Attorney Oliver Gantt said chasing is common in Warren.
"That's a big issue and that seems to be a norm with Warren police," Gnatt said, "That's a common practice. That's not police policy, nor procedure."
Last week, Gantt filed a lawsuit on Turner's behalf. Warren police haven't responded to the suit.
