Our Detroit Lions Madden 25 simulations are off to a pretty rough start—which is standard for Madden. They are currently 0-2 in predicting the actual winner. Here's a side-by-side of the Madden results compared to the actual results:

Week 1:

Madden: 31-24 Lions Actual: 20-16 Buccaneers On one hand, it's nice to see the Lions actually perform well in Madden—something we literally have never seen in the years we've been doing these simulations. On the other hand, it would be nice to get a little accuracy here.

This week, the Lions, who hold an 88 overall Madden rating take on the Arizona Cardinals , who have just a 76 rating. That would seem to suggest a heavy advantage for Detroit, but you never know in Madden simulations, particularly when the opponent has a mobile quarterback.

Of course, that matches some of the anxiety about this matchup in real life. We all saw what Kyler Murray did last week to the Rams defense, both with his arm (158.3 perfect passer rating) and with his legs (59 rushing yards on five carries).

Will the Lions be able to stop him in Madden, and will that have any bearing on real life (spoiler: it won't)?
