JBG Smith has announced a new partnership to lead operations at Water Park in Crystal City.

Ahead of the park's one-year anniversary this past weekend, the developer announced a new agreement with Episcope Hospitality . The hospitality company, founded by David Morton of Morton's The Steakhouse , runs restaurants, bars and cafés in Chicago, New York City and other locations around the country.

"We believe Water Park is one of the most unique and vibrant dining destinations in Northern Virginia," Morton said. "Our goal is to continue cultivating an atmosphere where food, culture, and community intersect, offering something truly special for every guest."

Episcope plans to add several new programs to Water Park, including makers markets and holiday-themed pop-ups. A list of planned upcoming events is below.

  • Now through Nov. 2: Fall Pumpkin Patch
  • Saturday, Oct. 19: Friends of Pluto concert from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 25: Bryan Lee concert from 5-8 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 31: Trick-or-treating with candy, face painting, a photo booth, a balloon artist, pumpkin painting and seasonal drink specials for adults
  • Saturday, Nov. 2: Day of the Dead Celebration, including face painting, a photo booth and live music by Mambo Sauce from 4-8 p.m.
  • Water Park reopened last October at 1601 Crystal Drive following extensive renovations.

"As we celebrate this milestone, we're proud of how Water Park has become a hub for diverse culinary traditions and a place where people come together to relax, connect, and create lasting memories," Brandon Taff, Senior Vice President of Commercial Asset Management for JBG Smith, said in a news release.

One year in, Water Park continues to act as a business incubator prioritizing local businesses, especially those owned by women and minorities. It maintains a busy calendar of live music and seasonal events, as well as regularly scheduled trivia nights, happy hours and Saturday fitness classes.

"In one year, Water Park has already made an incredible impact on National Landing, becoming a regional destination where food, culture, and community come together," said Tracy Sayegh Gabriel, President and CEO of the National Landing Business Improvement District. "Whether for a green respite, a quick bite, or entertainment like Fridays at the Fountain, it's the perfect place for locals and visitors to unwind, connect, and experience the best of what the area has to offer.

"We're thrilled to watch how Water Park continues to evolve and attract people and investment into our growing community."
