FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Fort Wayne's Water Pollution Control Plant held a WaterWorks FunFest Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., community members were invited to gather at its 2601 Dwenger Avenue location for a free, family-friendly opportunity to learn the science behind the wastewater treatment process.

The event provided exclusive guided tours with behind-the-scenes looks at the plant's screening and pump building, high-tech control room, and laboratory.

In addition to the exclusive guided tours, the event offered opportunities to engage with exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, games, live music, food, and fun.

City leaders say WaterWorks FunFest had something for everyone, and shows how science, engineering, and community come together to protect our water and environment.
