We stayed the night in Oregon’s haunted winery. Watch what happened

Wine reporter Michael Alberty and I recently traveled to Gold Hill in southern Oregon to investigate the story of a haunted winery .

It's Del Rio Vineyards , home to an allegedly haunted tasting room that used to be a stagecoach hotel.

What makes this ghost story so interesting is that it's based on an actual person. The woman believed to be haunting the place is Hattie Haymond, who died in 1891, in the house that still stands next door.

And according to stories told about Haymond's real life, her spirit might have good reason to have stuck around.

We heard stories about strange sounds, things unexplainably moved in the building and ghostly figures roaming the halls.

We had to see it for ourselves. So we asked Del Rio management if we could spend the night in their tasting room and investigate some of the strange experiences that staff attribute to Hattie.

During our overnight stay, we had an interesting experience with a Ouija board and a few jump scares. Watch the entire ordeal above. (And in my defense, when you watch the video, the object in the basement was a lot harder to see in the camera screen at night!)

If you go: Want to get a taste of the Hattie story yourself? Del Rio is hosting a series called Hattie's Haunted Flight Nights Oct. 24-26, where visitors can taste wine while learning the story of Hattie and the history of the community of Rock Point. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at the Del Rio website .
