ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Happy first day of astronomical fall! We welcome in fall with a beautiful day. You can expect a mixture of sun and clouds as temperatures rise up into the upper 70s. A really nice day overall to end the weekend on. Be sure to get outside and enjoy it while it lasts because, unfortunately, there is change on the horizon.

We kick off the work week with cloudy skies with rain moving in during the morning hours. The rain showers look to last throughout much of the day. Temperatures will take a hit and will only be be expected to climb into the low 70s. However, for those of you heading out west to Orchard Park for the Bills games, it looks as though the bulk of the rain will be gone. We can't rule out an isolated shower or two, but today's model guidance shows promising signs of less rain ahead of game time. Scattered showers will stick around for Tuesday. When it's not raining, you can expect those clouds to dominate our skies. Tuesday's temperatures are only expected to climb into the low 70s as well.

Wetter weather will continue into the second half of the week, with scattered showers likely for Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances remain higher for Wednesday, but will lower heading into Thursday. Temperatures for both days look to only stay in the low to mid 70s. Friday looks dry thanks to our newfound high pressure system, but there will enough moisture remaining aloft to keep overcast skies in the forecast. Temperatures for Friday are not expected to climb out of the 60s thanks to the lack of sun.

Looking ahead for next weekend, it looks like, for now, we will remain dry. Temperatures for both days will stay in the low 70s, which is very seasonable for this time of the year. Let's not get too ahead of ourselves and focus on this weekend for now!
