WEATHER UPDATE: Few outages northside of Adams County, no damages reported Published 7:00 pm Monday, November 20, 2023

NATCHEZ — Thus far there have been few reported power outages on the north side of Adams County and no structural damages reported, said Emergency Management Director Robert Bradford.

Supervisor Warren Gaines reported dime-sized hail in the Pine Ridge area but no resulting damage, Bradford said.

Forty-four people took advantage of the Safe Room on Liberty Road as a storm shelter when a tornado watch had been issued at around 4 p.m. today by the National Weather Service. Long after the watch had been updated to a warning, for the northeastern part of the county, Bradford said it appeared no tornado had touched down in the area.

“We’re going to wait until in the morning to get out there and see if there is any damage but by the grace of God it seems it was not a tornado on the ground, just radar indicated,” Bradford said.

According to Entergy’s power outage map, 97 utility customers lost power in the Morgantown Road area. Nearly 500 customers have lost power in Concordia Parish with outages spread along U.S. 84 and Ferriday.

A tornado watch remains active until 11 p.m. tonight, according to NWS.
