Wednesday’s Weather: Plenty of sunshine and mild
J.Wright41 min ago
EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - This morning we're off to a cooler start in the lower to middle 50s with mostly clear skies for the majority of the area, but a few showers will be possible for southern counties. A few locations might see some patchy dense fog form, so be on the lookout during your morning drive. Expect lots of sunshine for this afternoon with highs in the lower 70s for northern and central counties and middle 70s for our southern counties. Clouds will increase overnight, and a few showers will be possible tonight into tomorrow morning, with more widespread showers possible throughout the day Thursday and Friday. We could see a few thunderstorms each day, but we are not anticipating any severe weather during this time. Some rain will likely continue into the first half of Saturday but will quickly dry out as another cold front clears East Texas by late Saturday morning/early afternoon, leading to a comfortable and mostly dry weekend. Veteran's Day is next Monday and currently looks to remain dry with temperatures in the lower to middle 70s. We are also watching the tropics closely as Tropical Storm Rafael has formed in the Caribbean. Rafael will track northwestward toward Cuba later today and will likely move into the southern Gulf of Mexico by tonight as a hurricane. The forecast track is uncertain once Rafael gets closer to the Louisiana Gulf Coast late this week. Some tropical moisture could make its way into East Texas this weekend but significant impacts to our viewing area are not expected at this time.
