Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings: Each Position's Flex and PPR Projections

S.Wright9 hr ago
Perry Knotts/ With eight weeks of the 2024 NFL season now behind us, it's separation time in fantasy football.

Whether you're fighting for a playoff spot or jostling for a preferred postseason seed, your chances of completing this task could be on a time crunch. You might have a handful of weeks at most to get this done, so it's time to start stacking wins and giving yourself a shot at championship bliss.

With Week 9 lineups to set, let's jump right in with rankings and point-per-reception projections at each of the three flex positions, plus a bonus sleeper pick at every spot.

    Andy Lyons/Top 20

Sleeper: Alexander Mattison, LV (at CIN)

It feels entirely possible that at some point Mattison's inefficiency will torpedo his opportunities. He has run for 2.5 yards per carry or less in three of his last four outings. He needs to show more soon, or the Raiders could wind up looking elsewhere.

All of that said, Las Vegas hasn't turned away from him yet. In fact, the team tasked him with 66 carries and 16 targets (15 were caught) over the past four games, while head coach Antonio Pierce publicly committed to Mattison as the starting running back. Mattison's volume might remain high, in other words, and he could find it easier to operate against Cincinnati than it was versus Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Denver.

    Michael Owens/Top 20

Sleeper: Xavier Worthy, KC (vs. TB)

Worthy has video-game upside. Between his record-setting speed and Patrick Mahomes' huge arm, you'd think these two would be responsible for weekly fantasy fireworks.

That hasn't really come to fruition, but after seeing 22 targets (plus two carries) over the past three contests, it feels like Worthy might be trending toward an explosion. There is no better time than the present with Kansas City set to tussle with a Tampa Bay defense allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers.
