MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Happy Friday everyone! You have made it to the weekend. We have had a stretch of cool weather across the area, for some they may consider it cold. This weekend, things start to change. We are warming up this weekend into next week.

Tonight we will see clear skies across the area. That will allow for temperatures to drop pretty quickly once the sunsets. If you are heading out to any High School football games, be sure to dress warm. Lows tonight will be in the mid 40s across the Pee Dee and border belt regions. The wind will go calm, but it will still be quiet chilly. Along the coast, temperatures will fall to around 50 overnight. The breeze will around, making it feel even cooler.

Saturday and Sunday will be pretty perfect. We will see plenty of sunshine across the Grand Strand, back into the Pee Dee and border belt. The mornings will be chilly, but ample sunshine will help all areas warm back into the 70s. We will see low to mid 70s along the coast. Mid 70s inland on Saturday. As we head into Sunday, you can add a few degrees on to the highs, as most areas will be in the mid to upper 70s. A few locations in the Pee Dee could reach 80 by Sunday.

Next week the pattern remains calm across the area, high pressure is in control. This means we will cut off any shower or thunderstorms over the next 7 plus days. Highs will warm through next week back into the 70s to low 80s. Sunny conditions will persists.

It has been 21 days since we have had measurable rainfall across the forecast area. We are quickly drying out. The latest drought monitor has portions of Darlington, Florence, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties in abnormally dry conditions. This a level 1 of the drought status. We could see that expand into other areas this week, as rainfall is not expected. This is something we will have to watch in the coming weeks and months.
