‘We’ll keep picking up wins and see how both of them do’ – Shamrock Rovers ‘calm’ ahead of title run in

Having started September in the bottom half of the table and on a run of three games without a win, the Hoops have hauled themselves right back into contention with a 10-point haul from the last four matches, including Monday's 1-0 defeat of Bohemians. With Shelbourne (one win in seven) and Derry City (one win in six) both stuttering, Rovers know that sustaining a winning run will see them creep up on the top two.

"The hardest part of winning any title is the final bit. It's always the hardest part and we know that through the years," says Bradley as his side aim for an historic fifth successive league crown.

"Derry and Shels ahead of us, I've no doubt they will be feeling that. That's natural. We felt it. Everyone feels it when you're ahead as the hardest part is the last bit and getting over that final hurdle. We'll just keep doing what we're doing and keep picking up wins. We should be further along than we are right now, considering Friday [a 1-1 draw in Derry], but we'll keep picking up wins and see how both of them do."

Rovers had to be patient at home to Bohs as they were dominant for long spells but could not score due to missed chances and saves from Bohs keeper Kacper Chorazka, before substitutes Neil Farrugia and Graham Burke combined with Dylan Watts for Burke to score the winner six minutes from time.

"We could be 3-0 up and then there is nobody talking. It's just about, right, relax and trust what we do. It's just about being calm and you have to take that as a mark of respect, in how the teams are setting up. The players have earned that through the years. But don't let their game plan become a frustration for us, that was really important and we did that really well and that showed in the experience of the group, that we have learned that through the years," Bradley added, pleased with the players' response to Friday's events in Derry where they Hoops were denied a win by the concession of a highly questionable penalty.

"This group does that and I always say it, it's not a get out if we win or lose. They do do that. The kitmen were having a go at them in there because it was like they lost. The dressing room is calm and that's what they do. Win or lose or draw we try to understand it as quick as possible and move on quickly. That's what they do. They were devastated on Friday because it was taken away from them, in a manner it shouldn't have been but they move on and you could see in training on Sunday that they were fine, spirits were good and I thought they showed that tonight."

Rovers now focus on a home date with St Patrick's Athletic on Friday but there's concern over wide player Trevor Clarke who had to withdraw from the action due to injury just 10 minutes into Monday's game

"Trevor just came over after his first run and said his calf felt really tight. Trevor's game is really speed based so we got him out. Hopefully it's not too bad as it's unlike Trevor to come out, he's a tough man. We will have to assess that in the morning and see where it is," he said.
