Wells Enterprises puts together 1,800 boxes of food

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — More than 15 volunteers got to work boxing up hundreds of side dishes. For a second year, the Food Bank Of Siouxland has invited local organizations to put together holiday harvest boxes "stuffed" full of foods like green beans, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. The goal is to make 1,800 boxes over the course of three days – with the help of Wells Enterprises on Wednesday – and distribute them to agencies of the Food Bank Of Siouxland. Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission approves rezoning of land for planned grocery store "We really found that there's an uptick in pantry visits over the holiday season," Sidney Marks with the Food Bank of Siouxland said. "So to be able to provide just any kind of supplemental budgeting anything is just really awesome, to be able to say that we've had a part in and just be able to help those families kind of get through the holiday season. Marks says agencies will be able to request these harvest boxes starting this Friday.
