Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – We're looking drier and cooler to start fall. Rain will return for the new work week. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Showers and storms will be possible until midnight. After that, we dry out. Skies will be mostly cloudy with some patchy fog after midnight. Temperatures will fall to the upper fifties along with a calm breeze.

SUNDAY:

Happy fall!! Fall starts on Sunday and it will certainly feel like it. Highs will be in the mid seventies along with partly cloudy skies. It will be fair out with a breeze from the southwest around 5 mph.

WORK WEEK:

Showers returns as we get into the new work week. Rain starts late in the morning and into the rest of the day on Monday as a low pressure system moves in. Highs will be in the upper sixties. We cool to the lower to mid sixties on Tuesday with continued showers. A cold front moves in for midweek Wednesday into Thursday. Highs will be in the upper sixties on Wednesday and we'll be near seventy on Thursday as we see more showers. We finally dry out to round out the work week. Skies will be partly cloudy with highs still near seventy.
