West River Soccer Scoreboard: Rapid City Central, Hot Springs notch first wins

J.Jones28 min ago

At long last, there are no winless teams within the West River soccer scene. The Rapid City Central and Hot Springs boys put an end to that this past week.

The Cobblers jumped into the win column with a dominant 9-0 win over St. Thomas More last Thursday at Sioux Park Stadium, while Hot Springs rattled off two victories — defeating Custer 1-0 on Sept. 17 before upsetting Groton Area 2-1 this past Saturday.

The Rapid City Stevens soccer teams continued to roll, while No. 2-ranked (Class A) Rapid City Christian fell short in a ranked contest with No. 4-ranked (Class A) Freeman Academy this past Saturday.

Due to inclement weather, the rest of the matchup between Spearfish (2-6-1) and Sturgis (4-6-1) is slated for 4 p.m. on Monday at Woodle Field, Sturgis. The match was originally set for last Tuesday, before a round of thunderstorms postponed the contest.
