West Springfield police report threatening email scheme
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The West Springfield police are alerting residents of a recent scheme threatening to share explicit content.
MassDOT: Do not open links in text messages requesting payment
According to the West Springfield Police Department, on Thursday officers received two reports from separate individuals who had emails threatening to share explicit videos and photos of them online. To avoid the content being shared online, the con artists are requesting payment via Bitcoin.
The email may contain an image of the home where the victim lived. If you receive an email similar to this, police say not to respond in any way. The incident should be reported to your local police department.
