West Warwick cheer coach on leave amid Title IX investigation

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A Title IX investigation has been launched against the head cheerleading coach at West Warwick High School, 12 News has learned.

Superintendent Karen Tarasevich confirmed that coach Taylor Gargano was placed on administrative leave on Friday after they received an anonymous complaint regarding alleged misconduct.

"We understand the seriousness of this situation and are committed to ensuring a fair and comprehensive investigation," Tarasevich said in a statement to 12 News.

The district is not releasing any additional information until the investigation is concluded.
