Western Springs Man Scammed Out Of $15K: Cops In other cases, bicycles were stolen at a house and a school, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their latest blotter Monday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A resident in the 1000 block of Park Place told police Thursday that he was scammed out of $15,000 over the phone.
  • Bicycle thefts

  • A bicycle valued at $600 was reported stolen Thursday from the side of a house in the 4600 block of Grand Avenue.
  • A bicycle valued at $307 was reported stolen Thursday from a bike rack at Lyons Township High School's South Campus, 4900 Willow Springs Road.
  • A 61-year-old man who lives at the Uptown Apartments, 31 E. Ogden Ave. in La Grange, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 5500 block of Woodland Drive on charges of DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police said officers were called about the man lying on the ground next to a car. Officers discovered he had been drinking.
