Wexford Festival Opera fireworks night – all you need to know including times, parking and road closures

With an estimated 20,000 people in attendance, traffic management will be required on all key routes with the R741 on Wexford Bridge, the R730, and the R769 most affected. No roads will be closed, but a rolling road closure system may be required while the fireworks display is taking place.

This year's guest of honour will be Mayor of Wexford, Cllr George Lawlor, who will officially launch this year's Festival with the traditional fireworks display.

Parking will be available in the public car parks located in the area with a mixture of on street parking and private car parks, car parking will also be provided on the north quays within a large green field site adjacent to Ferrybank car park off the R741.

Control measures will also be in place to ensure there Is no public encroachment on the Wexford Leisure Centre car parks. Disabled parking will be located at the Paul's Quay car park and on on Trinity Street with 20 spaces provided.

For pedestrians there will be controlled access points to ensure there is no trespass on railway lines. A barrier system will be set up to corral people into the site in an orderly manner and stewards will assist crowd flows at the entrance

There will be ten portable toilets on site with eight standard units and two disabled units. A designated viewing area will be provided to stage right on Wexford Quays, the area will be maintained by stewards and will ensure disabled patrons can view the stage in comfort.

There will be a sign language interpreter located on the main stage.
